Scalability

Our systems are capable of supporting thousands of users per server. Increasing the number of mobile users is simply a matter of adding additional servers to the network configuration.

Part of our service is to recommend, depending on the actual number of users for deployment, the appropriately sized server for each customer installation. The advanced communications server links each mobile user to the home office server regardless of how the mobile device communicates, then connecting to the customer back office system (see System Integration).

Secure Communications

All the information available to the sales representative would be useless without a communication framework that allows them to share such information with their management and with the enterprise systems back at corporate headquarters. Visicom DSD includes an advanced communications server that links the mobile representative with the home office. A multi-tab GUI (graphical user interface) allows you to set parameters for operation, view log files, and check on the status of server operations. Each installation can have unique settings catered for the specific business operations. All sessions transmitted are compressed utilizing encryption tools. This allows secure transmissions and increased speed.

The encryption we use is an RC4 algorithm with a changing key.

All communications are secure, with the following security features:

• In case of loss/theft all handheld information and the application can be destroyed remotely
• Temporary password special authorization by customer or route
• Special passwords for classified documents
• Data encryption and communication scrambling using RC4 algorithm with a changing key
• Easy deletion of an agent from the agents list

Configurable Parameters

Parameter settings allow you to establish how the RouteRider application behaves by defining and inserting your particular business rules without any coding. You control the software by quickly and easily creating parameters to fit a single route or a group of routes. Our intuitive user interface makes it easy to define the characteristics of each route or group routes together with many different variations. In fact, there are 20 general categories of parameters, giving you the ability to control the behaviors of promotions, price lists, customer credit, printer, communications, warnings and restrictions, and more.

A visual representation is displayed indicating the existing value(s). Change is fast and easy – help is available by clicking on the parameter in question.

Multi Device/ Multi OS Support

Our system has the ability to allow multiple different mobile devices, multiple different operating systems and multiple versions of our software to be used in production at one time.  At times this may be intentional due to shortages of mobile devices or unintentional, either way, be assured that the solution you choose with Visicom has the ability to manage a diverse set of devices manufacturers, operating systems and even different versions of the application software.

Systems Integration

Our engineers will work to fully architect, build, test and implement the appropriate interface for our solutions. We can work in a combination of ways with the customer or a trusted third party all working jointly on the interface.  Regardless, we can typically deliver within a 90 day window and on budget. Your new mobile solution can be put to use quickly allowing you to recoup your ROI back as soon as possible.  Visicom will interface with SAP directly and indirectly as well as many other back office solutions. The resultant interface will work seamlessly, communicating the desired information between the mobile devices, the server and the back office systems.
